Prepare your skin for sun and learn how to get a suntan evenly, avoid the appearance of blotches and the redness of the skin.
In order for the skin to get a suntan evenly, it is important to remove the defunct cells of the upper layer of the skin. A gentle but effective peeling is needed twice a week during the summer. You should choose a peeling in granules and massage your body during the shower using a firm glove. Use a fine-grained peeling for face, so you do not irritate the skin. One peel a week is sufficient.
In order the skin moisture to be satisfactory, and the skin to be soft, massage your body while still moist after a shower with a few drops of essential oil in an oily base (which can be bought in pharmacies). Choose oils made of cereal germs, almonds, rose, spearmint etc.
Special Facial Care
If the skin is properly nourished and hydrated throughout the year, it will handle the encounter with sun, without adverse consequences. The same goes for the body. However, while the body only needs a special cosmetic product that is applied daily after bathing, face requires some special treatments during the summer. Apart from day creams with a large percentage of moisture and UV protection, a mask is also necessary, at least twice a week. In addition, the day cream you apply when you do not go to the beach must contain UV filters.
Solarium
The solarium is useful in very “small” amounts because the skin then gets a certain amount of UV rays that stimulate the production of melanin. You should go to a solarium of well-known producers and a beauty salon where lamps and filters of the device are regularly maintained. Inside the solarium with a proper scale of UVA and UVB rays, with the possibility of adapting the radiation and not too hot lamps, you can get the tan that lasts longer and avoid skin damages. Such preparation of the skin is useful for people who suffer from erythema – skin is gradually exposed to rays and has time to adjust to sun. It should be also noted that the tan got in the solarium offers no protection as the real suntan. Therefore, while sunbathing you certainly must use protective creams.
No Blotches
Special care should be taken to prevent blotches and burns. It is forbidden to apply glycolic acid and retinol because these can cause photosensibilisation and thus leave the skin without its natural protection. Also, birth control pills should not be used since a combination of hormones and sun can cause blotches on the skin.
Advice
When you are exposed to sun do not use perfumes and deodorants that contain alcohol. Be careful with drugs (antibiotics, hormonal products etc). You should better consult with a physician.
The lips do not have protective cells, and can easily get sunburned. So, do not forget to use protection for the lips, too.
