Hands are the mirror of personal hygiene, and of your attitude to yourselves. Most people recognize that hands are what they first notice when they meet another person. Take care of them every day. Apply the cream rich in vitamin E, or chamomile that is rubbed into the skin in circular moves from the back of the hand towards the fingertips. A lymphatic drainage is done, joints and fingers are massaged. A recovery treatment product can be applied to the hands and it is dabbed onto the skin and the hand is put in a nylon glove, or bag. Hands should be cuddled after the housework, especially in winter when they are exposed to frost, wind, and are often chapped.
Nail Care
When we say someone has “bad nails” then they are weak and thin, they break or split. If a nail should be quite shortened, it is done with scissors first, and then it is files. It is better to shorten the nails regularly, using files than tools. Paper files are the best, and are of various qualities – from rougher to finer, and the cheapest is a rubbery one. Trimming is done using rougher files, and then a finer file is used to polish and shape the edges of the nail. Before you start with nail care, you should keep them in lukewarm water for about 5 minutes, where there is a liquid soap of neutral pH value dissolved.
It is not enough to rub a cream into hands skin several times a day! Nails need a cream for care, too. Such creams contain proteins, vitamins, minerals and amino acids that strengthen the surface layer of nails. Special creams make nails elastic and stimulate their growth. If you have thin nails special care is needed. For the nails to be healthier it is necessary to get enough calcium and vitamins B, D and E. In spring and autumn it is important that nails are provided with vitamins and minerals. When nails are dry they split. It is enough to keep them in lukewarm oil of plant origin (olive) for a few minutes once a week. Nails are filed from the edges towards the middle.
Brittle nails are not elastic because they are dry. The best sources of moisture for such nails are products with Aloe vera. Such nails are not to be filed for a long time. Weak nails should be provided with silicon better. Silicon strengthens the nail root and can improve their growth.
Nail Whitening
Lemon juice is used for nail whitening. It works as a peeling for the cuticle. Keep nails in lemon juice for two minutes. If the fingers skin is dry and nails split, an oil bath would be best for them. Heat olive, sunflower or sesame oil and then dip your fingers or entire hands. This treatment lasts for 10 minutes. Nails should not be filed in one direction. The skim at the bottom of the nail and cuticle do not have to be removed mechanically. A product applied to the cuticle chemically dissolves the skin, softens it in order to be easily pushed up so that we have a larger surface of nail. This product is first rubbed in circular moves and then cuticle is gently pushed by an appropriate tool. Do never cut them! After suppressing cuticle clean all up with alcohol to stop the chemical process and to disinfect.
Not only that a hand cream is used for skin care and making it sensitive, but also strengthens the nails. It is best to use creams that contain calcium and provitamin B5. Once a week you should apply the cream to your hands, put protective gloves and leave the cream to work overnight.
Nail polish is applied in two thin layers. Before that apply a clear nail polish or a foundation for it, and then apply the nail polish itself. In this way the nail polish will be kept on your nails longer. While painting your nails you should take care about how the nail polish is applied. It needs to be applied from the bottom towards the top of nails. The thin line with the nail root should remain free because in that way nails will be able to breathe.
As for removing the nail polish using acetone – it is not recommendable. Such product of highest quality is a nail polish remover without acetone. Acetone dries both cuticle and nails that therefore crack easily. Nail polish remover without acetone decomposes nail polish slowly, but protects nails. When the nail polish is removed, hands must be washed. Nail polishes that have dried up, dehydrated, become very thick, should not be thinned using acetone because acetone waterproofs them and they quickly crack on nails. There is a thinner for nail polishes that is dripped into the nail polish and then is good shaken.
